Juntas

In 2011, after a long legal battle, Norma Castillo and Ramona "Cachita" Arévalo became the first married lesbian couple by law in Latin America. They were 68 years old when they became the subject of a media phenomenon that ultimately led to the historic passing of the Equal Marriage Law in Argentina, thanks to the activism of the LGBTIQ community. Norma and Cachita met in the Colombian Caribbean in the late 80s. JUNTAS is the documentary that takes them back to that magical land where by chance they met, fell in love, and began a love story that would last over three decades. JUNTAS is the postponed journey of twenty years in which these women confront the past, the traps of memory, and the times of old age. In 2018, five years after that journey, Ramona Arévalo passed away. JUNTAS is the story of a final wish.
